Just like Dad

This picture doesn't show it well, but my favorite time to watch out the back door is when Brian is mowing the lawn. First Brian walks by then about 5 feet later and on the opposite side of the lawn is Max pushing his mower the exact same way Brian is. Either pushing or pulling. He parks his lawn mower right by the real one, parks his "dog poop" shovel right by the real one..the list goes on and on.... He is such a mini Brian and it is darling. He is a Daddy's boy and would do anything to spend time with him. Brian feels the same about Max. It is so nice to have a wonderful husband for my kids to want to be like.

the "kitty" pool

This past week we went to buy a kiddie pool. On the way home, Max was talking to my mom, who owns a cat. He told her, "mamma beb (grandma deb) we bought a kitty pool for yours kitty." He had asked me a lot in Walmart if the pool was for Indy, our dog. I finally understood why. The pool has been wonderful! Max spends ALOT of time in it. Which is nice due to Lily still napping twice a day. This week past week a typical day was like this:
6:00 up and milk
6:30 walk
7:45 ish breakfast
8:15ish kiddie pool
10:00 swim lessons
10:45 kiddie pool
11:30 lunch
12:00 kiddie pool
1:30 nap
You get the picture...

Lily also loves it! She will stay in it for an hour! The other night, our cousins were over and the two babies got in fully clothed. I guess we weren't fast enough getting their swim suits on!
All of our outside toys also went swimming that night.....

11 months today

I can't believe she is 11 months!! She is getting a very fun personality and still loves her Mom above all else... she weights 17 lbs and has no desire to walk. She will stand for a few seconds but not longer then 20 seconds. She LOVES the water and her brother. She will say "moo" and "vrommm" (well she has only said them a few times but I think it should count). She loves to dance, or bob up and down when music plays and she claps for everything. We just love her to death!

The love and stress of our lives...

Look at her innocent face....this was a few years ago....now she is going gray....
I am talking about Indy here, although Max also fits that title... we LOVE our dog. she is nothing like the dog in Marley and Me, except for the loving part. But she is determined when she wants to be. We moved into a house with a 6 foot cinder block fence. Perfect for her, she can't get out. There is a doggy door going into the house so she can come and go. It seemed perfect, and it was for a whole week. Until she found a way to jump over the fence and run around while we were not home. When she is alone, NOTHING will keep her from finding something to do. So we had to go and buy a wire fence, you know the horrible shock them kind, which we should have bought years ago. So the first time she was shocked she was so mad she would have nothing to do with Brian for a few hours that day. This is rare, because she likes him more then me. She was so scared of him that she got into the shower to be closer to me when he walked in the bathroom. So we thought all would be good now, poor dog stuck in the safety of her own yard....but now she has accidents in our house! I mean like poop and pee accidents!!! She has not done that since she was a puppy! It is horrible!! I cleaned the carpets the other day and then in the morning there was a nice gift in the middle of the carpet...gggrrrrrrr.... Okay so she has only had 3 accidents but that is 3 too many. We have figured out that the poor girl is getting shocked every now and then when she leaves the doggy door...so we have some more work to do.... It is a good thing that we love her so much.

WHAT??!!!!

So in the mail the other day I find this...Look close because i couldn't make it bigger...

Yep, that is me driving, down a freeway looking right at the camera taking my picture as I speed past.... We always wondered who gets these tickets because there are signs warning you all over the place that the camera is coming. BUT in my defense everyone was going the same speed I was. You can watch the video online and it tells every ones speed. I was going 67 but it wasn't 65, apparently I was in a 55 zone, which no one, including me noticed...

Brian's first comment, with many more jokes to follow was, "How did you get a speeding ticket? you always go 4 under?" Which I usually go the correct speed or 1 or 2 over...I don't think the judge will care what I say I usually drive

Also I was on my way to pick up my sister from the airport so shouldn't she have to pay? In the end, it just sucks because i have to pay... so when i saw a cute dress that I really need (really I only have winter dresses and 2 skirts that are so old the zippers are broken) Brian said, "you already spent your dress money on your ticket." GGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR dang cameras!

PS Lily nursed like crazy this morning before i remembered that we were done.....

when i look down

this is what i see. she is often standing at my feet wanting my attention, which i give her. Most of the time i am happy to give it. She is a doll and we are so lucky to have her in our lives. I think she has given up on nursing. I am unsure how I feel about this. I never felt the need to stop nursing Max, and only did (at 12.5 months) because i wanted to get pregnant again (which I was 3 weeks later). But the last few months I have often thought about her only taking bottles. A month ago, my milk was weak during the day (many days in a row I would nurse and then she would need a bottle) and she went to formula, but i have still been nursing her in the morning and at night. (I do realize I could have built my milk back up but I choose not too, it was hard on the days i was gone a lot) This may not seem blog worthy to many of you, especially if you don't nurse, but I feel odd. Can I just stop with one month left? I think so, I think she decided for me a few days ago. I put her to bed with a full stomach of stinky formula tonight and she was happy.

an over due reunion...

One of my favorite collage roommates, Danelle, who I lived with for almost 5 years came to visit us! I have not seen her for 4 years...waaay to long! It was a short visit but we had a good time. I don't think we ever stopped talking while we were awake. She is wonderful and it was good to see her. Hopefully we will see her again sooner then 4 years from now! Thanks for coming Danelle!

Duck Creek Village

This past weekend was our annual camp out with some of Brian's friends from growing up...It was the 9th one! With many more to follow! This year we met at Duck Creek Village and stayed in a cabin. The weather was chilly (sooo nice!!) and rained but was nice enough to play outside and see some caves and lakes. It was so fun and we already miss everyone.
Seriously, look how pretty it is!

So I never asked the others if they would mind having them or their kids on my blog. 3 out of 4 have blogs so I would assume it is ok but I wouldn't want to cause a problem...but i had to post this one because it is darling. and you can't really see the kids.
At one of the lakes it was raining so the kids and I played in the car. Lily has a new love, she thought driving was great. It made me realize that she has never done it before due to her older brother always wanting to first... This was also taken right before I fell out of the car, yep that is correct, I was stuck on a bag and my legs are very bruised due to falling on big rocks that were supposed to be a parking lot. But I was holding Lily and she was fine. I am glad to know that I will sacrifice myself to save a baby. LOL (or ROR if you know the story about me working at Lins restaurant in high school....Ryndsey to roud....)
I wish I had a picture of the cabin, it was very nice. We all had a room and I never felt cramped.

He has to think he is getting away with something here...

Lilers or Wilers, if you are Max

our little family

Here we are in front of a big saguaro cactus. They are about to bloom and I am excited to see what the flower on top looks like. (I know I am a geek) The rest of these pictures were in our yard after church. I never got the kids together in their Easter clothes until Sunday, just a few months after Easter. Since Kate was here she took some of all of us. In my mind it would have been so much better to have taken these before church, but then what excuse would i use for not looking my best? (and no, I am not pregnant, I just like to look like it, makes people wonder daily.)

More of Aunt Kate...

Lily loves to give kisses now....you just sometimes have to watch out for her tongue..
We drove Katelyn out to the desert (well the country desert) to see the big cactus... she was impressed...we have to show off something in our new land.

We also went to see the Mesa Temple.
We took her to our favorite frozen yogurt place...yummmmmm
We also went on a bike ride. It is a fun trail through Scottsdale parks and Tempe town water front. We rode about 12 miles, but that was nothing for our little runner Kate... I on the other hand was dead.....
We also shopped more and spent time at the pool. She even babysat while Brian and I went out. It was so fun to have her here. She is such a easy guest. And of course both kids love her. But we get to see her again in two months... We love you Katelyn!

Little Aunt Kate comes to visit...

I finished finals on Wednesday at noon, which I did good, and then Katelyn come into town around 3:00. Yesterday we took her for a walk and planned on going to a pool. But Max has had hives for a few days so we took him to the doctor first. By the time we got to the pool, it was FULL TO CAPACITY so we just went to our old apartment to swim. Then Kate and I went to the outlet mall and shopped for 4 hours. Brian brought the kids out for dinner and then we continued shopping. It has been a while since I had been shopping with no kids! At least for more then an hour. We had a good time. And if I was as cute as her and had a great job with no family...I would have bought waaaayyy more!!
