Not a very blog worthy week...

Every time the kids stand by each other, Max says "mom take a picture of us." and I usually do, he is the boss after all.

The other day, Brian was singing and we looked in the kitchen and saw Lily doing this...he was singing loud...

Lily thinks it is funny to lay in Maxs bed...

This week was very uneventful. the weather was perfect 75 degrees almost everyday. we played out in the back yard a lot. We have stayed up way to late watching the Olympics every night.. I LOVE THE OLYMPICS and I love DVR....which is new to our home, i know most of you all got it like 15 years ago when it came out...

new hair flowers

This isn't a good picture of the flowers, but i just learned how to make them out of fabric and they are so easy and fun and DARLING. My mom kept asking for a picture, so here you go. And no her Valentines bows did not match her outfit, but sometimes that is how life goes...(that is what I kept telling myself all day....) and she just didn't have a better church outfit for the day...

Valentines Celebrations

KIDS PARTY #1.... A friend of mine invited us to have a kids party with some of her friends and their kids. It was so much fun! We made a valentine, decorated cookies, hit a pinata, threw bean bags, did the limbo and bounced in a bounce house. It was fun, and i did horrible taking pictures so these are the only proof or our attendance.

ADULTS ONLY PARTY! So I have NO pictures of this event, I am sure I will get some but that could be months away so I thought I would add this in for memory sake. Our friends had an adult Valentines party. It was so fun. We ate fondue, which is always fun. Then we played some great games. We listened to songs and had to guess which couples song it was (Brian and I won by luck), we had to open and eat a ding dong as a couple with our hands tied behind our backs, we played a game similar to Bunco, and did a white elephant gift exchange. It was very fun, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

KIDS PARTY #2!
We have never celebrated Valentines this well! Our friends had us over for games, crafts and food on Saturday!
Check out our new fancy bean bag toss Brian made for us! It got more impressive as the week went on. Max has had a great time and Lily is really good at cheating...
There was a fishing pond and the kids loved it!

We also decorated cookies and ate pizza. If you noticed, I have very few pictures of Max. He was having to much fun to hold still...
The real (today) Valentines Day hasn't been as exciting as the previous days! We did eat heart pancakes and sandwiches...but that is about as good as it will get.. we got Lily a little teddy bear and she is in heaven... Brian found a art easel for $5.00 at a thrift store that we gave the kids.
I tried to get a good picture today before church, you can see how excited to cooperate they were...
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE!

Deal of the Week

Brian and the kids found this for $12.00 at a thrift store this week. Gotta love a deal!

Big Church Day for us

Today was Lily's first day to go alone to nursery!! Yeah for us! (I do teach music in nursery so i was in there for part of the time, I know hilarious that that is my calling!) Today was also Max's first talk in primary! He was so cute and spoke right into the mic! He repeated all that Brian whispered to him and did a great job. I missed it and was heartbroken....I am sure I will be able to hear him speak at some point in his life...

Monster Truck Jam

Brian and Max went with some friends to the Monster Truck Jam. I wish he had gotten a picture with all the boys and their huge ear phones on. They are too cute! Max was so excited to go, he watched utube videos for a week. He has never sat so still for so long. Brian was way smarter then I would have been and took a lot of video footage of the show. He then made it into a video with music for the boys to watch over and over again. Lily loves it almost as much.
So sad the beloved Gravedigger was out after only a few minutes...but max still likes him the most!

So the other day, max was singing in the car. I knew the tune but couldn't figure out what he was singing. He said it was "gravediggers song." I finally figured it out...here he is singing with the song included so you don't have to think as hard as i did...

for memories sake

The other day the kids were sitting on the coach by Brian watching TV. Max said, in a very mommy voice, "oh look at my cute family, mom you should take a picture of this." so i did.. he was right...they are cute, even when sick.
I finally took a picture of Lily laying down for her nap. Usually we do not put the frog in, we hide it so she forgets... but seriously she loves these animals! After about 5 min of sleep she has pushed them away and rolled over... but when she wakes up, we have to take ALL of them out with us.

We had a game night with our cousins the other night. Before we put the kids to bed, we roasted some marshmallows.
And here we are being a "cute family" again.
Other noteworthy conversations...
Max told me that he needs to eat to "keep on growing" He also wants to keep growing so he can be big like his dad, so then I (mom) can have two Dads to love. I mentioned that Brian is my husband not my dad, max replied, "yes, I will be one of those for you too then"
Lily says "good" "yeah" and "uh-oh" on a regular basis. You would be surprised how much you can get across with just those 3 words.

RSV...

Poor us, we have just been hit by every illness that has come up this season. Just as Lily was feeling better from her flu bug and playing again..
she gets this runny nose.... We thought it was just a cold but after a few days of no naps and one night of no sleep, we took her to the Doctor. I almost felt like a crazy mom for taking her in to see if maybe she had an ear infection or something fixable. Poor girl did have an ear infection, and RSV! Yuck! We are not new to RSV, Max has had it every year until this one (hopefully he doesn't get it), but it is still miserable.
A little dancing after a treatment...always makes us happy!
