Sunday drive

A few Sundays ago, we went for a drive downtown to find the hospital that I will be working at for my next (and last) 3 month rotation. I also wanted to drive by the capitol, because we have lived here 3 years and haven't seen it.  What we didn't know was that there is this very cool history park at the capitol.  It was 112 degrees when we got out of the care. So you can guess we didn't stay long.... but a must to go back when the weather is a little more appealing!

This the real anchor from the USS Arizona.

This is the real mast from the USS Arizona

Max is a working man

Max wants "stuff" lately. anything. he just wants to buy things.  It got to the point that we decided he was ready to earn some money.  he has a chore chart and now makes money for earning so many stars. He LOVES this concept. He saved and saved for a fireman dress up  outfit that was a must have. Until we went to the Disney store and he found a Zurg gun.  Unfortunately, by the time he earned enough money to buy it, 3 days later, it was gone. Luckily, there was a Buzz gun that is almost as cool. What happened to the fireman outfit you may ask? who knows, but he did mention that it will probably be on sale soon at walmart and then he will get it. (He must hear about sales and discounts or something.. ) He is too fun and proud of his money he earns!

GRADUATION

I didn't take any pictures during school. None. I apparently decided to make it up during the few days of graduation and take 100s of pictures! I apologize in advance... they are actually not that great of pictures and I am sad that some didn't get taken, but I want to remember this day and these people...

So Sad! All of our family pictures include Brian on the phone!!! We didn't realize it until after the fact or we would have taken more!  It makes me so sad that I want to get all dressed up again and take one!  I also don't have one of just me with my hood on...

Traci's husband graduated with me.

Us with the Huntington Family

We just love this Latoya!! Or
"my toy" as the kids once called her!

All hooded and ready to be OTRs!!!

Stephanie was so nice to take the day off work to spend with us!

A little out of order.. me walking to my seat. I was so afraid to look up and trip!

My family went to the Old Spaghetti Factory after the ceremony.

We had a dessert party that night for friends. It was fun. None of my pictures turned out and are not worth  posting, except these two.  max and Jack and then Jacks mom (Micki) and myself

It was a fun day, even if I am not totally done until December 16th!  I was so glad my family was there to celebrate with me! I wish I had gotten a few pictures with friends that came but it just didn't happen.  It was hot and crazy in there after the ceremony!  We also laugh because all of us girls bought new dresses and didn't get any pictures in them! But...WE ARE DONE!! I am soo close now!!!

The end of summer swim lessons

This was the last session of swim lessons offered through the city for the summer. It ended the first week of August.  Lily turned three during this session so they let her in. It was great because we paid for group lessons but both kids were the only ones enrolled in their classes so they each got private lessons!

Lily loved her teacher and the feelings were mutual! She gave us her number to babysit for us.  Lily  learned some new skills but has her own style of doing things. Such as big swim arms are a really small doggie paddle... I would often hear her say, very politely, " no thanks, i not want to do that."  Not exactly what a parent wants to hear but at least she is nice about it!

Max has come so far with swimming this year! I goes across the whole length now.  He is working on side breathing which has made him need a few more stops but still doing great. He wasn't ready for the diving board but loved the deep end!

July random moments

We are super heros in our family!

I just love goggle shots!

After many many many years, it is actually going to happen!

We are proud to announce the graduation of Lyndsey Durst
from A.T. Still University with a
Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy
on August 6, 2011

If you are a sibling, parent or grandparent, a similar announcement should have come in the mail.  BUT I forgot to put the date on it! LOL! I figured a family picture was better then just me! And let me tell you this took the whole family for me to finish! So what does this mean?  I walk in August but I am not completely done until Dec 16th.  It is odd and a long story but that is the way my program rolls!  So after graduation I have until September 13th to finish my research. On the 13th I will present it and we have a pinning ceremony.  I then have 2 weeks of vacation.  At the end of September I start my last field work assignment. I will be working with adults. I complete my field work on December 16th.  I can take the national board exam as early as January 12th.

If you live close by, we are celebrating my graduation with desserts on Saturday the 6th at 7 pm at my house. Let me know if you can come!! We would love to have you!
